After being up at ONU for about a month, I finally
got to see my mom and sister. Usually my sister is busy with work, but she had
a free weekend and got to make the trip. It was nice to have a weekend away
from the books and with my mom and sister. This past week was extremely
stressful so this weekend was much needed.
Saturday was a busy day, but a day well spent. When
my family got here, we got some lunch and just caught up and gossiped for a
bit. Luckily, during lunch the rain cleared off and we were able to go to the
Herb Festival on Main Street.
As you can see from the picture, we made sure to
stop by the bookstore and get matching ONU apparel. I’m not usually into
matching with my sister or mom, so I left my jacket on for most of the game. It
was both my mom and sisters first ONU football game and turned out to be
perfect weather for a night game.
Sunday came too soon. I felt like my family just got here and I already
had to say goodbye. Before having to say bye, I was able to have Bob Evan’s
breakfast and do a little shopping with them. I always hate saying goodbye, but
it was a little better knowing I would be home for fall break and Lacey would
be back for Cedar Point in a few weekends.
Courtney- I knew your mom was coming down but I am happy for you that your sister was able to visit as well. My parents were also going to come down but sadly the rain deterred them away. If only our polar bears could have won the football game to make that night even better for your family. I think one of the top things about this is that you got a Bob Evan's breakfast. That is like one of my main goals when my family comes down is to go out to eat at least once while they visit. I am glad you had a great weekend Courtney and make sure to tell mom I said hi.
ReplyDeleteCourtney, I just want to say the real reason I commented is because I am in love with your shirt. Pocket tee's all the way! Your family coming this weekend must've felt like the best of both worlds because whenever I am around my family, it feels like I am at home and I can truly be myself, but whenever I am at college I can act the way I do so I bet having your family here really put you at ease and made you happy. As for the goodbyes, I hate goodbyes because I always catch myself looking back as they leave and it feels like I'm a little freshman again. Great post and sounds like an even better weekend.
