One Week

By this time next week, I will have revealed those three letters that mean so much to me and be reunited with my sisters. It is crazy to think recruitment has gone by this fast. I feel like it was just yesterday I was meeting so many new girls at Greekapalooza.

The other day my fellow RG partners and I had a hall meeting with our floor girls. We went around and asked them which sorority they believed we were affiliated with. Some guessed right, others wrong. At the beginning of this process I wanted my girls to know what sorority I was a sister. I wanted them to look at me and it just scream, "oh yeah, she is definitely a whatever!" But as they went around and guessed, I realized it did not matter if they were right or not because there is something in every Chapter that I love. Everyone is unique and has a great sisterhood to be apart.

Even though I am in love with my Chapter and sisterhood, when I went through recruitment my freshman year, there was something in every Chapter that caught my attention. From philanthropies to campus involvement, the sisterhood and bonds, to how I felt talking to them. After stepping back from my own Chapter, I see what each Chapter brings to Greek Life. Without all four sororities on campus, we would not have the same experiences or opportunities as we do.

This being said, I do not think I realized this before coming a Rho Gamma. I was just always representing my own Chapter, now I got the opportunity to represent the female portion of Greek Life on campus. I was told I would get a greater appreciation for my Chapter and Greek Life in general, and I am pleased to say with one week to go, I have gained that experience. It has been a hard experience to be separated and behind the scenes, but one that will pay off. I would strongly encourage girls to look into being a Rho Gamma!

As Bid Day is growing closer, I cannot wait to see where all of our floor girls go and call home, and which girls I get to call my sisters. One week left and I will be back home.

  1. Court,

I know that you are going to be a great sister to all of the girls that are about to make one of the best decisions of their life. I can personally say that Greek Life has made my life better. Seeing you grow up and step into your own element as a sister and a young lady is something that I have enjoyed. I believe that what you said about our experiences here on campus as Greeks is dependent upon one another. From one Greek to another, let the good times roll!
