Christmas in September

In the life of a sorority girl, the second closest day to Christmas is Bid Day. Bid Day is one of the best days because you get to watch new sisters join a chapter and find their new home. The excitement is spread over a few days, formal recruitment to the Bid Day suspense, but is worth the wait. This Bid Day was especially special because it was my last one.

I got the privilege to set on our recruitment board for Kappa Alpha Theta this year. Since joining Theta four years ago, I have had the privilege to see recruitment from every angle; a potential new member, a sister recruiting for her chapter, a Rho Gamma, and on our Executive Recruitment Board (ERB). ERB is a behind the scenes type of position and quite different from any other experience, but one I was lucky to have.

Bid Day 2016 meant our chapter, Zeta Sigma, would open our arms and sisterhood to 16 new members. All of these girls are individually unique, but share something in common, the ability to be leading women. As a senior, I am excited to see this new member pledge class grow into our chapter and see all of the amazing things Theta can bring to them.
